Mac: access system settings via shortcut - is that possible?
A shortcut makes many things easier - but is there also one for the system settings for Mac? You can get the answer here.
Mac: Call up system settings with your own shortcut
Unfortunately there is no shortcut on Mac to directly access the system settings. But you can create one yourself:
- Open the system settings and click on "Keyboard & Mouse".
- Click the "Keyboard Shortcuts" tab.
- To create a new shortcut, click on the "+".
- In the "Program" field, select the "System Settings" setting.
- You can then insert your desired combination in the "Keyboard shortcut" field. With a click on "Add" you save your changes.
Mac: These shortcuts already exist
You can access individual settings directly with the following existing keyboard shortcuts:
- With the keyboard shortcut [Alt] + [F1] you can call up the monitor settings in the system settings.
- Use [Alt] + [F3] to go to the "Exposé & Spaces" system setting.
- With [Alt] + [F10] you can adjust the sound in the system settings.
- Note: These shortcuts work on all current Mac OS X versions.
