Mac: change system voice - how it works
This practical tip shows you how to change the system voice on your Mac. Use the voice output, choose between two female and two male system voices in German under Mac OS X.
How to change system voice on Mac
For example, your Mac reads the time to you if necessary. We show you how to change the system voice in 5 steps:
- First navigate to the necessary settings by clicking on the Apple icon in your menu bar and opening "System Settings ..." and then "Dictation & Language".
- Go to the Narrator section to change your Mac's system voice.
- Next to "System voice", tap the drop-down list.
- Choose between the specified system voices.
- As an alternative to the listed voices, click on "Customize ..." and check the box next to the new system voice. Note that you need to download the voice. To do this, you need an active internet connection. Then confirm with "Ok".
