With the Mac System Profiler you get most of the information - not just about free hard disk space.
- Click on the apple icon in the top left and select "About this Mac" -> "More Information" -> "System Report.
- Click on "Hard disk" in the "Hardware" column and select the volume from the table on the right whose available storage space you want to determine.
Use the Mac Disk Utility to determine available space
The hard disk utility also provides information about free space.
- Select "Programs" -> "Utilities" -> "Hard Disk Utility".
- The volumes are listed in the left column below the physical hard disk. Click the volume whose available space you want to determine.
