Mac: Set up Wake on Lan
"Wake on Lan" is relatively easy to set up on your Mac. We show you how it works.
Set up Wake on Lan on Mac
- Click the apple icon in the upper left corner and open "System Preferences".
- Click on the "Save energy" icon.
- Place a checkmark next to "End hibernation on WLAN network access" or "End hibernation on network access".
- Wake on Lan is now activated.
Wake up Mac via network access
- After setting up Wake on Lan, you can wake up your Mac from other devices on the network.
- The easiest way to do this is with special programs. For example, if you want to use another Mac, the freeware tool "WakeOnLan" is ideal.
- Appropriate apps are also available for Android and iOS.
- In some cases, you can also wake up Macs on the network using your router software.
