Connect Macbook to other devices via Bluetooth
You can connect your MacBook to other devices such as cell phones, keyboards and mice in just a few steps via Bluetooth. We show you how it works.
Activate Bluetooth on the MacBook
To turn on Bluetooth on your MacBook, click the Bluetooth icon in the status menu at the top right of the screen. From the drop-down menu, select the item "Activate Bluetooth". The bluetooth symbol in the status bar now shows with a darker shade that bluetooth is switched on.
Configure Bluetooth devices
Click the Bluetooth icon again. The drop-down menu now shows all known Bluetooth devices. The first time you connect your device to your MacBook, you need to configure it. To do this, click on the menu item "Configure Bluetooth device".
Search for new Bluetooth devices
Your MacBook will start to search for Bluetooth devices in a new window. Select the desired device from the list. If it doesn't appear, make sure it's turned on and within range.
Authenticate Bluetooth connection
Your MacBook prompts you to authenticate the Bluetooth connection. To do this, on the device you want to connect, enter the number combination that is displayed on the Mac.
Connect MacBook to Bluetooth device
Click the Bluetooth icon in the status menu again and point the mouse at the newly configured device. Select "Connect" from the drop-down menu or "Connect to network" for mobile phones to pair the device with the MacBook.
