Use MacBook closed with monitor - how it works
- The connection between the MacBook and monitor does not work with all MacBook models. In addition to monitors, projectors can also be connected via DVI and a mini display port.
- Since the mouse and keyboard cannot be used when closed, you need external devices. You can connect this to the MacBook either by cable or via Bluetooth.
- If you use a radio mouse or radio keyboard, the devices must be able to end the idle state (see picture). This practical tip shows you how to check this.
Instructions: Use MacBook closed
- Turn on your MacBook and connect the device to power.
- Now connect the external mouse and the external keyboard to your MacBook.
- Connect the monitor to your MacBook using a cable and then switch it on.
- If the external monitor shows an image, you can simply close the MacBook and continue working.
