MacBook: Broken charging cable - what to do?
This guide shows you what you can do if the charging cable on your MacBook is broken.
MacBook charging cable broken: You can do that
With a defective charging cable, you can no longer charge your MacBook battery and you can no longer operate your MacBook using electricity. In such a case, follow the tips below.
- First, you should clarify whether you have a guarantee for your MacBook and whether your defective charging cable is covered by the guarantee. Visit the Apple Store page for information about the Apple hardware warranty. Otherwise, you should contact the store where you bought the MacBook.
- An Apple store near you is also a good place to go to find out whether the charger is still in need of repair or whether a new charger is required for your Mac.
- Alternatively, you can also contact Apple's technical customer service by phone or email.
