The MacBook is known for its good batteries. Nevertheless, the battery can deteriorate over time. In this article we will tell you how you can see the number of charging cycles and the condition of your battery.

- Hold down the Option key and click the Apple icon in the top left corner. The Option key is located on the bottom left of your MacBook keyboard between the [ctrl] and the [cmd] keys. The [alt] key is also on the selection key.
- Then select "System information from".
- In the "MacBook" window, navigate to "Hardware" in the left bar.
- Now click on the entry "Power supply".
- Under the item "Information on battery status" you can see the number of complete charging cycles in which your battery is fully charged. With all MacBooks that have been manufactured since 2010, up to 1000 charging cycles are possible without problems.
- You can also see the current battery status under "Information on battery status". From 1000 charge cycles, your battery will probably no longer be good enough to be able to operate the MacBook for several hours without power. If your battery is defective, we will help you in another article.
