Start Macbook from CD - quick start guide
If you experience problems with your MacBook, you can start it from the system CD. We'll show you how it's done.
Start MacBook from CD
- Insert the CD into your MacBook and restart the system. To do this, click on the Apple icon in the top left and select the "Restart" option. Confirm the subsequent query with the "Restart" button.
- If your MacBook has turned off, hold down the "C" key during startup until you notice a change in the startup process. The CD is then booted.
- If that doesn't work, hold down the "Alt" key instead of the "C" key. Then follow the instructions in the next paragraph.
Start MacBook from CD using the boot menu
If you pressed the "Alt" key during the startup process, you will be taken to the boot menu of your MacBook.
- Navigate with the arrow keys to the category "Boot Manager" and select it with the "Enter" key.
- You will now see some of the hardware components installed. The CD drive is usually marked with the title "CD ROM".
- If you select the CD drive with the "Enter" key, your MacBook starts from the CD.
