MacOS Automator: Save text as an audio file
You can program many different things with the MacOS Automator. Also the automatic saving of text as an audio file - we have the instructions for you.
Automator: Save text as an audio file
To save a marked text as an audio file, you first have to create a suitable service in the "Automator" application.
- Open the "Automator" program and select "New Document". In the next window, click on "Service".
- Find the program block "Text in audio file" and add it to the program with a double click. The block should now appear on the right half of the window.
- You can now set various things on this block. For example the computer voice used or the storage location.
- Then save the program as a service. Simply press [CMD] + [S] and give the service a name.
Use the finished Automator service on Mac
- Once the service has been saved, you can start it from almost any program.
- To do this, simply select any text and click on the name of the open program> "Services" in the menu bar and select your saved service.
- The text is then saved as an audio file on your desktop.
