MacOS: Hide dock and menu destinations on a second monitor
Since MacOS Mavericks, a menu bar and the dock are visible on the second monitor. You can hide both on the second monitor so that it does not interfere with a presentation, for example.
Hide the menu bar and dock on the second monitor
A displayed menu bar can be disruptive during a presentation. To hide you, you need to do the following:
- Enter "System Preferences" in Spotlight Search to open your Mac's preferences.
- Select the "Mission Control" sub-item.
- Deselect "Monitors use different spaces" so that the blue tick disappears.
- You must now log in again for the change to take effect. To do this, click on the apple in the upper left corner of your screen and select "Logout".
You can also customize the menu bar. We will show you how to display the calendar week in the menu bar.
