How to eliminate Google notifications on your Mac
Google offers you the option of individually setting whether or which notifications appear in the menu bar of the Mac. The notifications for your calendar appointments, for example, can be useful.
- In the Chrome browser, first click on the "Settings", which you can find under the Chrome menu button.
- In the "Settings" menu, go to "Show advanced settings".
- In the "Privacy" area, click the "Content Settings" button.
- You can then choose between three options under the "Notifications" area.
- You can choose between "Allow all websites to display desktop notifications", "Show confirmation when a website wants to display desktop notifications" and "Allow no website to display desktop notifications".
- You can also use the "Manage exceptions" option. Under "Manage exceptions" you can remove old entries or insert new ones.
