Encrypt mail attachments yourself - how it works
In order to encrypt your mail attachment yourself, you need additional software. We'll show you how to do it.
Encrypt mail attachments with Drag'n'Crypt
Thanks to the "Drag'n'Crypt" tool, you can encrypt your email attachment for security and maintain data protection:
- Download the free tool from the manufacturer's website and unzip the archive.
- The tool does not have to be installed and can therefore be saved on a USB stick. Click the "DCU.exe" file to start.
- A target appears in the middle of the screen. Simply drag the file you want to encrypt into this target.
- A dialog window opens. There you can enter your encryption password. A small bar shows you the security of the selected password.
- Enter your password twice for security and then click the "Encrypt" button. If the unencrypted file that you are currently editing is to be deleted from your PC after encryption, click on "deactivated".
- To decrypt the file, the recipient must also use the "Drag'n'Crypt" tool. The recipient must then also drag the file onto the target and then enter the password. By clicking on "Decrypt" the file is released again.
- Note: Alternatively, you can also use the "Gpg4win" tool. This will automatically encrypt your emails.
