Makita charger flashes red-green - you can do that
If the light on the Makita charger flashes red-green, this indicates a faulty battery or a fault in the contacts. We explain what you can do to recharge the battery.
Makita charger: indicator light flashes red-green
The blinking of the indicator light on the Makita charger can have various causes:
- On the construction site or in the workshop in particular, contacts can quickly become dirty. The battery will not be charged and the lamp will flash. Clean the contacts with a dry cloth. In the case of heavy soiling or rust, the use of contact spray helps.
- The contacts on the battery or charger may be bent and do not interlock. Check the contacts and bend them so that the contact is optimal.
- Check whether the battery is defective. Try charging another battery with the charger.
- Makita chargers recognize original batteries. Third-party batteries are often not charged.
- If the problem cannot be solved, contact Makita's repair service.
