Remove Malware System Progressive Protection - Here's how
The "System Progressive Protection" malware cannot be easily removed from your PC. The program pretends to be an antivirus application and pretends that your computer is infected with all kinds of viruses and Trojans. Worst of all, System Progressive Protection even forbids you to start other applications. So you are completely unable to act at first. Still, there is a way to remove the malware.
Determine the file path of System Progressive Protection
The first step is to find out where the malicious EXE file is stored on your hard drive. To do this, restart your computer. You will now find a link to System Progressive Protection on the desktop.
- Right click on it and select "Properties".
- The location of the malware is entered in the "Link" tab under "Target".
- Make a note of the path to the directory. Leave out the file name (everything after the last slash).
Remove malicious malware files
Since System Progressive Protection runs non-stop on your computer, you cannot simply delete the files. To do this, you need to start Windows in safe mode, which means that the malware has no chance of starting. If you are in Safe Mode, proceed as follows:
- Open the folder whose path you wrote down.
- Delete all files in this folder.
- Then remove the folder itself.
Remove System Progressive Protection completely
You can now exit safe mode by restarting the computer. Windows is ready for use again for the time being and you can operate everything as usual. But be careful: your system is not yet malware-free. You should run a full scan of your antivirus software as soon as possible to remove the last traces. This prevents System Progressive Protection from nesting in your computer again.
