Make the mouse faster - how it works
If your mouse pointer moves too slowly for you, you can make it faster with the right settings. We'll show you what options you have and how to find the perfect mouse speed for you.
Make mouse movements faster
You can adjust the speed of your mouse pointer at any time in the Windows settings:
- To do this, open the Control Panel and select the "Hardware and Sound" category.
- Then click on "Mouse" under "Devices and Printers" so that another window opens.
- Go to the "Pointer Options" tab above and you will find the "Movement" category there. To increase the sensitivity of your mouse, move the slider to the right.
- Finally click on the "OK" button so that your settings are applied.
Make mouse faster in games
Even if you increase the pointer speed in Windows, some games will not be affected. First-person shooters in particular often have their own mouse speed controls in the game settings. So take a look here and set the speed up if necessary.
Increase DPI and make mouse faster
If the settings in the software are not enough for you, you can also change a few things on the hardware side:
- Especially on newer mice, you will often find a button that you can use to change the DPI of the mouse. The higher the setting, the faster the mouse moves on the screen. For Logitech devices, you can also change the DPI number using software. Microsoft mouse users to the Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center.
- Alternatively, you can use a new mouse with a higher DPI. However, it is not possible to say where the perfect value is. It is best to test several mice with different settings here to find the perfect DPI value for you.
