Maxdome: recording films and series - is that legal?
In this guide, we will answer whether it is legal to record films and series at Maxdome. Of course, this also applies to other video streaming services.
Recorded films at Maxdome - legal?
The video streaming service provider Maxdome answers the question of the legality of recorded films and series quite precisely:
- On the video-on-demand website, if somewhat hidden, Maxdome announces: "Storage on SD cards or transfer to other devices is not permitted for licensing reasons."
- However, Maxdome grants you at least one form of "controlled" recording. With a few exceptions, you can download the films in Germany using WLAN access.
Downloaded videos from Maxdome: You have to be aware of that
Maxdome's video storage offering is subject to some restrictions. You have to consider these 5 points:
- First of all, you may only save the series and films in the internal memory of your playback device. USB sticks are therefore taboo.
- In addition, you may only have 25 films saved at a time.
- After downloading, the films are still available on the player for 30 days.
- Once you have watched a film, you have 48 hours left. During this time you can play the video as often as you like.
- After the 48 hours or 30 days have elapsed, the respective film is automatically deleted from your playback device.
