Set up multiple accounts at Dropbox
With Dropbox you can create multiple accounts and set them up in different ways on one computer.
Work-around: use multiple drop boxes
A fairly simple, if not very professional, solution is to simply share one account's folder with the other, as if you were sharing the folder with a friend or colleague, for example. This way you can at least always access all folders.
Convenient variant: use two Dropbox accounts on one computer
Since the Dropbox program cannot manage two accounts at the same time, you need the normal Dropbox program and a portable version. And that's how it works:
- If you haven't already done so, download and install the Dropbox program.
- Now log in with your username and password for the first account.
- Download the portable version Dropbox Portable AHK and install it. Unfortunately, it is currently only available for Windows systems.
- Log in to the portable version of Dropbox with your second account. You can change the color of the Dropbox icon in the taskbar so that you can distinguish between the two programs (see image).
- Each time the computer is restarted, you must open the "DropboxPortableAHK.exe" file so that the portable version of the Dropbox starts and the files are synchronized.
