Remove multiple Windows tiles at once
Windows 8 shows some weaknesses, but Microsoft has done everything right with the tile management: You can clear out the start menu completely in just two steps.
- To do this, right-click on all the unwanted tiles.
- Then select "Detach from start" in the lower left corner (see photo).
- The apps are now removed from the start menu. However, you can still start the programs via the search or the store.
Tip: If you want to completely hide your installed apps, you can also hide them in the Windows search.
