Meizu Pro 5 vs. OnePlus 2 - the smartphone comparison
The Meizu Pro 5 and the OnePlus 2 are two Android smartphones that can easily compete with the competition from Samsung and Apple. We show you how the two high-end smartphones compare in a direct comparison.
Meizu Pro 5 vs. OnePlus 2: screen and design
- The OnePlus 2 has a large 5.5-inch screen (about 14 centimeters) that has a solid 1080 x 1920 pixels.
- The Meizu Pro 5, on the other hand, has 5.7 inches (14.5 centimeters), on which also 1080 x 1920 pixels are distributed. The pixel density of the OnePlus 2 is slightly better: 386 ppi compared to 404 ppi (pixels per inch). The difference is barely visible to the naked eye.
- The Meizu Pro 5 is just 7.5 millimeters thin, the OnePlus 2 measures a little thicker 9.8 millimeters. For comparison: the iPhone 6S is 8 millimeters thin.
- Processing: The OnePlus 2 looks very similar to the predecessor OnePlus One. It is in a chic metal frame made of aluminum and has a noble sandstone back, which can be exchanged for covers in different wood looks.
- The Meizu Pro 5, on the other hand, comes in an aluminum case with rounded corners and is therefore very similar to the iPhone 6.
- Despite their size, both devices are easy to hold: The OnePlus 2 weighs 168 grams, the slightly larger Meizu Pro 5 weighs 175 grams.
Meizu Pro 5 with better processor, OnePlus 2 with better camera
- The OnePlus 2 uses the fast Snapdragon 810 with eight cores and 1.8 GHz from Qualcomm. The installed Android 5.1 runs smoothly and apps start practically without waiting.
- The Meizu Pro 5 contains the even faster Exynos 7420 from Samsung. Eight cores also create a whopping 2.1 GHz. The Meizu Pro 5 should even beat the Samsung Galaxy S6 in terms of performance.
- The Meizu Pro 5's camera, on the other hand, is average. Although it resolves with impressive 21 megapixels and brings laser auto focus, the camera of the OnePlus 2 is even better equipped:
- It has a resolution of 13 megapixels and shoots very sharp pictures for a smartphone. There are also optical image stabilization, digital zoom and numerous recording modes. You can also make a white balance and the correct ISO settings for difficult lighting conditions.
Meizu Pro 5 vs. OnePlus 2: system, battery and storage
- System: The OnePlus 2 is delivered with Android 5.1 including the new Oxygen UI 2.0. The OnePlus interface is very clear and chic, but changes little in the standard Android.
- The situation is completely different with the Meizu Pro 5: The Chinese manufacturer has installed its Flyme OS 4.5.4.2A, which is based on Android 5.1 but hardly remembers it. It's chic anyway.
- Battery: The 3, 300 mAh battery of the OnePlus 2 ensures a telephony runtime of 10:23 hours and a good surfing time of 7:55 hours.
- With 3, 050 mAh, the Meizu Pro 5 also has a similarly strong battery, but should come up with slightly worse values. You will soon find out more in our smartphone test.
- Storage: The OnePlus 2 is available with 16 GB or 64 GB of storage space, which you cannot expand. The Meizu Pro 5, on the other hand, is available with 32 or 64 GB of memory, which can be enlarged with a micro SD.
OnePlus 2 or Meizu Pro 5? Conclusion and price
The Meizu Pro 5 and the OnePlus 2 are two top smartphones at moderate prices. They should compete with the iPhone 6S and the Galaxy S6.
- The Meizu Pro 5 knows how to impress with its superfast processor and super slim design. The modified operating system takes some getting used to.
- The OnePlus One is also fast, has an above-average battery and great camera features. Unfortunately, the memory cannot be expanded.
- The Meizu Pro 5 is a direct iPhone competitor for cheap 430 euros, or 480 euros for the larger version on the market.
- For the OnePlus 2, 340 euros are due for the 16 GB model and 400 euros for the 64 GB model.
