With the Microsoft Access office component, databases can be created quickly and easily. Before doing so, you should think about what data the database contains and what purpose it should serve. Access gives you three easy ways to create a database.
Microsoft Access: Create database with the wizard
The database wizard helps you to create a database.
- After starting Access, click on "New" in the toolbar.
- Then click on "New File -> On my computer" under "Templates".
- Under the "Databases" tab, select the type of database you want to create and confirm with "OK".
- Now you only have to enter a name and a location under "New database file" and then click on "Create".
- Next, the wizard starts, you only need to follow the instructions.
Microsoft Access: Create a database with templates
The fastest way to a new database is through the templates.
- Click New on the Access toolbar.
- Under "Templates" click "New file". Here you can choose between "Templates" and "Templates on Office Online" to find a suitable template for your database.
- If you have found what you are looking for, click on "Download".
Microsoft Access: Create an empty database without a wizard
- To create an empty database without a wizard, click "New" in the toolbar.
- In the task area select "New" and then under "New" an "Empty database".
- In the following, you only have to specify the name and the location under "New database file" in order to create an empty database by clicking on "Create".
