Microsoft Edge: activate Javascript - how it works
If you want to activate Edge Javascript in the Microsoft standard browser, the setting required for this is not so easy to find and is also not possible with every version of Windows. We show you how it works.
Activate Javascript in Microsoft Edge
To be able to activate Javascript in the Edge, you need the Group Policy Editor. Since this is not included in the Home or Starter version of Windows 10, you cannot activate Javascript here. For all other Windows 10 versions, proceed as follows.
- In the search box on the taskbar, type in "edit group policy policy" and then click on "edit group policy".
- In the following window you have to navigate to "Microsoft Edge": "User Configuration> Administrative Templates> Windows Components> Microsoft Edge".
- Once here, double click on "Allow scripts like JavaScript to be run" to open the dialog box with the Javascript options.
- Now click on "Enabled" so that the checkmark is set and confirm the setting with "OK".
We will show you how to change the start page in Microsoft Edge in the next practical tip.
