Microsoft Edge does not play videos - it can be because of that
Microsoft Edge is the standard browser in Windows 10. If it no longer plays videos, the error can often be quickly rectified with just a few clicks. In this practical tip we will show you what you have to do.
Microsoft Edge stops playing videos - what to do?
- In order for videos to play properly in the browser, you need to install the latest version of Adobe Flash Player.
- You should also make sure that the Edge Browser is also up to date.
- In most cases it can already help if you briefly restart the PC and then try again.
- The driver for your graphics card may also be out of date. Start Windows Update or go to the manufacturer's website to test this.
- Try to put a tick in "Use software rendering instead of GPU rendering" in "Control Panel"> "Internet Options" in the "Advanced" tab. This usually fixes the problem quickly.
- If you cannot solve the problem like this, you will have to reset Windows 10 to factory settings.
Alternatively, you can try resetting Microsoft Edge. We'll show you how in our next practical tip.
