Minecraft: Build automatic mob farm
An automatic Minecraft mob farm is a building where mobs can spawn and then be killed to get their items in large quantities. Such a farm is easy to create, but it takes a lot of work. In this practical tip, we explain how you can best proceed with the construction.
The spawn area of the Minecraft Mob Farm
- The spawn area of the farm is basically just a dark room. Mobs automatically spawn in it.
- It is best to build your farm in the area where you spend the most, since mobs only spawn within a certain radius around you.
- Your spawn area should only be two blocks high. Otherwise, Endermen can spawn in your farm and destroy it.
Collect the mobs from your mob farm
- To kill the mobs, you must first collect them. To do this, build a hole in the middle of your farm through which the mobs can fall.
- You should also build some water inlets that will transport the mobs to the hole.
- A possible design of such an inlet system can be seen in the picture next to this text.
- It should be noted that you do not build stagnant water because the mobs will stop there. Furthermore, you should only build the water flow to the edge of the hole and not into the hole.
The farm's mob grinder in Minecraft
- Finally, the mobs collected have yet to be killed. This happens in the mob grinder.
- There are different ways to kill the mobs. The simplest is killing by falling damage.
- To do this, drop the mobs at least 23 spaces deep.
- Once at the bottom, the mobs die from the fall damage and lose their items, which you can easily collect.
- If you also want to collect the experience points, you can drop the mobs for example only 22 fields deep, so they survive just like that and you can simply kill the mobs.
