Harvest lots of wheat in seconds in Minecraft? No problem at all with an automatic wheat farm. In this article you will find detailed building instructions.
Build an automatic wheat farm at Minecraft
- If you no longer want to laboriously harvest wheat fields by hand, you should quickly get an automated harvesting system. The harvesting process is carried out by flowing water, which is controlled with a redstone connection.
- First of all, however, the arable land itself is created. A field is usually 7x4 blocks. 7 blocks in length is the ideal value because water (known to flow 8 blocks) can flow one level lower on the last block (and thus 8 blocks again).
- When considering the width, take into account that every wheat field should be within reach of a water source, otherwise the plant will only thrive slowly. This range is 4 blocks in each direction.
- Arrange all your arable land in terraces. Orient yourself on the farm shown on the right. This structure can be enlarged as desired and promises the best efficiency, since it uses the available space ideally.
Minecraft: Automatic Wheat Farm - The Redstone Circuit
- The water, which at the push of a button sweeps away the existing wheat crop, is in a gutter at the top. Towards the front it is limited by a drawn piston that carries sand. (see picture on the right) When the piston is pulled back, the sand falls down and the water starts to run. If the piston goes up again, the drain is stopped.
- You can use any other material instead of sand. You only have to use a sticky plunger to pull the blocks down with the redstone signal. Building materials such as sand or gravel naturally fall back to the ground.
- Now build as many pistons as your farm is wide. Set up the gutter over which the water will later be located. Construction tip: Only place the water at the very end, otherwise it may wash away redstone elements.
- There must be a redstone amplifier in front of each piston. Connect all of these amplifiers to the main line that ultimately leads to the trigger. Use a lever as a trigger.
- Now the construction is finished - and ready to take the laborious harvest off your hands. The lever is flipped and hundreds of pieces of wheat are broken down fully automatically. Unfortunately, you still have to plant the fields yourself.
What do you do with so much wheat at once? Bake bread, of course! You can find the baking recipe here. Of course, wheat is also there for other things. Especially for breeding animals in Minecraft.
