Minecraft has had llamas recently. This practical tip shows you where they appear and how you can tame and reproduce them.
Minecraft: tame and multiply llamas - how it works
- Llamas spawn in mountainous regions, regardless of the biome. They appear both in sandy areas and in earthy areas. The mountains have to be high, but not gigantic either. Look for the highest mountain in your area should you find it within a few days. The llamas usually spawn in small groups of two to five animals.
- The great thing about llamas is that they follow one another. So if you lead a llama on a leash, the other llamas in the immediate vicinity will also follow you and form a caravan. You can also equip it with a chest or carpet if it is tamed.
- To tame a llama, you have to ride it until it no longer throws you off. The procedure is therefore identical to horses in Minecraft.
- Tip: You can only ride a llama if you have nothing in your hand. As soon as it has been tamed, red hearts rise.
Minecraft: How to propagate llamas
To propagate llamas, you need two llamas and lots of grain.
- You have to make hay bales from the grain at the crafting table. You need nine cereals for a hay bale.
- You have to give each lama a hay bale, then red hearts rise and a tiny llama appears.
- But be careful: if you accidentally hit the llama, it spits at you and causes half a heart damage.
