Minecraft: build and use beacons
We'll show you how to build a beacon in Minecraft and how to use it.
Minecraft: build beacons - how it works
For the beacon you need three obsidian blocks, five glass blocks and a nether star.
- Place the obsidian blocks on a workbench in the bottom row.
- Place the nether star in the middle.
- Fill up the remaining fields with glass blocks.
- The beacon is used to equip players with certain effects.
- You have to activate the beacon with a pyramid of several blocks.
- You can use iron, gold, emerald or diamond blocks as materials for this pyramid.
- The smallest possible pyramid consists of a 3 x 3 area on which you have to place the beacon in the middle.
- The higher the pyramid (maximum 4 levels), the stronger the effect.
- To add an effect, right-click on the activated beacon. Now choose an effect and put an iron, gold, emerald or diamond in it to trigger the event.
