Minecraft: Allocate more RAM - how it works
Minecraft can be allocated more RAM with one trick, which often leads to better performance. This is done using a Java option in the Minecraft launcher. You can read exactly where the option is located in this practical tip.
Minecraft: Allocate more RAM
To allocate more RAM to the open world game Minecraft:
- Start the Minecraft launcher.
- Click on the "Profile Editor" tab above.
- Select your profile and click on "Edit Profile".
- Place a checkmark in front of "JVM Arguments" as shown in the picture.
- Insert the command "-Xmx [RAM to be allocated]" in the adjacent text field. Replace [Allocated RAM] with the new amount of memory that Minecraft should have. 2048M corresponds to 2 GB, 3072M corresponds to 3 GB and 4096M corresponds to 4 GB.
Tired of the game's RAM problems, you can play Minecraft on other platforms at low prices. In another article, we'll show you how to install texture packs in Minecraft.
