Play Minecraft without Java - how it works
You can now play Minecraft without Java. So at least without Java installed system-wide. Microsoft released an update for the Minecraft client, which brings its own instance of the Oracle software. A system-wide installation is no longer necessary. Malware that sneaked in through Oracle no longer has a chance with the integrated Java version.
Play Minecraft without external Java thanks to a new launcher update
The Oracle software Java is by far the most common target for hackers. Minecraft players under Windows can remove the conventional Java client after the latest game update and thus provide more security. Another advantage: Minecraft should start and run much faster with its own Java engine.
- Download the current "minecraft.exe" from us. MacOS users, on the other hand, have to be patient. Microsoft promised a corresponding update for the Apple system only later this year.
- Copy the file to the folder where Minecraft and the Java engine will later be located. Then start the setup and wait until the new launcher version has been downloaded. Minecraft will then start automatically.
- Before you can get rid of the Java environment, you have to adjust your profile. To do this, set up your account in the Minecraft launcher at the bottom left and click on "Edit Profile".
- In the "Java Settings (Advanced)" section, check "Executable".
- Change the path in the right field to "C: \ Minecraft Launcher \ runtime \ jre-x64 \ 1.8.0_25 \ bin \ javaw.exe". Replace the "Minecraft Launcher" section with the path where you just copied the exe file.
- Save the changes via "Save Profile". You can then remove the conventional Java version from your system.
