Minecraft: Install OptiFine and set it correctly
In this article we will show you how to install and set the graphics mod "OptiFine" in Minecraft.
Step 1: Install Minecraft Mod OptiFine
The easiest and quickest way to install OptiFine and other mods is with the "Craften Terminal":
- Install the "Craften Terminal" on your computer and then open it.
- Click on the "Minecraft versions" tab and select your Minecraft version in the left column.
- Now scroll through the existing mods in the right column. There you will find the OptiFine mod. Note that the "craft terminal" will only deliver the mods to newer versions over time. So if you have the latest Minecraft version, OptiFine may not be listed yet.
- Click the plus sign next to the mod to add it.
- Finally, click on the "Change Version" button so that the tool accepts the changes.
- In your mod list you will also automatically find the "Forge" program, which you must also install. After you have downloaded OptiFine, a login window opens. Enter your login details there.
Step 2: Set OptiFine for Minecraft - how it works
OptiFine has a wide range of functions and is particularly confusing at the beginning. We bring you closer to the most important features:
- You can find the new options in the Minecraft Settings menu via "Options"> "Graphics Settings".
- In the "Quality" sub-item, you can make several settings for grass and water. With the additional option "Connected Textures" you can also connect window glass to a transparent surface without borders.
- The sub-item "Performance" enables you to adapt Minecraft to your computer. If you have a powerful calculator, you can add several Minecraft visual enhancement options. Otherwise unscrew the controls a little here.
- Under the menu item "Other" you can make settings for the game world. For example, you can switch off the weather or configure the autosave function.
- It's best to click through all the functions and play with the settings. In this way you get the best result.
