Minecraft: create server backup - how it works
So that your Minecraft structures created with friends are not lost on a server, you should create a backup. We show you how to do this.
Minecraft Server Backup: save server
You can quickly create a server backup in Minecraft at any time. First, you should save the server yourself before you back up the data externally. You have two options:
- If you have administrator rights in the game, save the server by entering the command "/ save-all" in the chat and confirming with [Enter].
- Alternatively, you can enter the "save-all" command in the console of your server to save the server.
Minecraft Server: save game files and world
Then save your game files. If you are running a vServer or Root Server, it is easiest if you use an FTP client such as "WinSCP". The steps work exactly the same for a server set up locally on your computer. Depending on how far you've played on the server, there may be more folders in the server files than are shown on the screenshot.
- Navigate to the installation directory of your Minecraft server.
- Now copy the entire folder contents to a local hard drive or to another secure location.
- You can reset your Minecraft server at any time later by copying the backed up files into the installation directory of your Minecraft server and replacing the existing data.
Minecraft proves that pixel graphics don't have to be ugly with an appropriate addon. On the next page we will show you how to play the game in HD graphics.
