Minecraft: create server
If you no longer want to play Minecraft in single player mode, but want to stack blocks with your friends, you need a server. In this article, we'll show you how to quickly create a Minecraft server.
Create Minecraft Server - Minecraft server data
In order for the Minecraft server to work properly, you need at least Java version 6. Check here whether Java is up to date or download the latest Java version directly from us.
- Download and run the "Minecraft Server" server file
- An .exe file is unpacked, which you can start directly or, depending on your preference, first drag into a program folder and run from there.
Build the Minecraft server
After you have started the .exe file, the server starts automatically. In the open window, status reports on server operation and events in the game world are issued from time to time.
- The server can now be accessed in the local network, you and friends can access the server with the Minecraft game at the IP address of your computer.
- If you don't know your computer's IP address, you can find out with this tip.
Further customization of the server
The server can be further adjusted for setting subtleties in the game world.
- To do this, first stop the server by closing the window.
- In addition to the .exe file, there should be another file called "server.properties", which you can open with the right-click and click on "Open with ..." in the editor.
- In addition to various other settings, the maximum number of players can be changed with "max-players", with "pvp" you can adjust whether players can injure each other and with "spawn-animals" you can turn animals on and off in your game world.
Tip: In order to also play with friends on the Internet, the local network can be expanded virtually with hamachi. In this practical tip, we will show you how.
