Minecraft shortcuts - the most useful shortcuts
You need many different shortcuts in Minecraft right from the start. But even later you can discover new functions with keyboard shortcuts:
General Minecraft shortcuts for beginners
Almost everything in Minecraft works with keyboard shortcuts. We have compiled the most important basic combinations for you here:
- [E]: Use this button to open your inventory.
- [Shift] in the game: In normal game you sneak with the Shift key. That way your character won't fall off the block edges.
- [Shift] in inventory: hold down the button and click on an item. This will add it to your quick access bar at the bottom of the screen. In the crafting table, you can use the same key combinations to generate the maximum number of items to be crafted.
- [1] - [9]: Use the number buttons to quickly switch between the individual items in your quick access bar.
- [Q]: If you no longer need an item, you can use this shortcut to remove it from your inventory.
- [T]: With this shortcut you open the chat. Here you can write with friends or enter commands.
Minecraft keyboard shortcuts for special game functions
- [F2]: With this shortcut you take a screenshot. You can find the pictures in the folder "C: \ Users \ username \ AppData \ Roaming \ .minecraft \ screenshots".
- [F3]: This shortcut opens the debug screen. Here you will find, among other things, your current position, the FPS number of the game and further information about Minecraft.
- [F5]: This switches between the first and third person view.
- [TAB]: On multiplayer servers, use this shortcut to list all active players.
- [F6]: If you stream via Twitch, you can start and stop the live stream with this shortcut.
- [F7]: Under "Options"> "Broadcast Settings" you can activate your microphone for Minecraft. If you have defined the shortcut as a talk button, the device only records if you hold down the button. As a mute key, the recording pauses as soon as you press [F7].
Set up your own shortcuts: Customize Minecraft controls
If you are not satisfied with the key assignment, you can adapt the control as you wish:
- To do this, click on "Options" in the Minecraft main menu.
- Here you select the "Control" sub-item.
- Then click on the desired entry and then press the desired key.
- Save the settings with "Done".
