Minecraft doesn't start anymore - what to do?
If Minecraft no longer starts, there can be several reasons. We'll show you how to solve the problem.
Minecraft doesn't start anymore - that's how they do it
- AppData: Often there are only minor bugs in Minecraft that cause the bug. Press the [Windows] and [R] keys simultaneously so that the "Execute" command opens. Enter% appdata% here and confirm with "OK". Then open the "Minecraft" folder and delete the "bin" folder.
- Update: If an update or the installation of a mod led to a failure, importing a backup copy can help. If there is no backup, all you have to do is wait for another update.
- Mod: If you have installed a faulty mod, importing the backup is also useful here. Alternatively, you have to reinstall Minecraft.
- Java: Java is often the reason for the problem. You can find out how to solve such problems in the next paragraph.
Java problems with Minecraft
- Update: Always install the latest version of Java. You can find these in our CHIP download area.
- Version: In some cases, the correct Java version is also crucial. Even though many computers now use 32-bit systems, often only the 32-bit version of Java is installed. This is actually not a bad thing, but Minecraft doesn't like it every now and then. Depending on whether you have a 32- or 64-bit system, download the correct Java version: Java 32-bit, Java 64-bit.
- Problems: If there are still complications between Java and Minecraft, uninstall Java completely and then reinstall it.
