Create Minecraft Texture Pack - Instructions
Minecraft looks even nicer when you create your own texture pack. Below we explain how it works.
Create a new Minecraft texture pack from existing ones
The easiest solution is to edit an existing texture pack.
- First, search online for a texture pack for your Minecraft version and the desired resolution (eg "Minecraft Hyperion HD TexturePack 1.7.8 128x128").
- The resolution "16x16" or "32x32" is the original size. From "128x128" you can create a so-called HD pack.
- Unzip your texture pack. It now serves as a template.
- Now go to the folder and go to "textures" under "minecraft". Now you can see your various editing options.
- Under "Blocks" you can now, for example, edit the appearance of the different blocks.
- To do this, open the specific block in Photoshop or Gimp and edit it there as desired.
- Make sure, however, that you save the image under the same name and as ".webp". This is the only way to change your texture pack.
- Tip: Many blocks have different view pages. To change the top of a block, you have to edit the corresponding image individually.
Minecraft texture packs: how to customize your armor
Your equipment offers a special feature in texture packs. Editing them is a little more difficult:
- First go to "Models" and "Armor" in "Textures".
- The various armors are now displayed as individual pictures.
- With the help of our help picture you can now see which piece of armor is where in the picture.
- Now edit the texture as you like.
After completing your texture pack, you can use it in Minecraft.
