Minecraft: Tutorial for WorldEdit
WorldEdit is a powerful plugin for Minecraft that allows you to create all sorts of shapes and objects. In this tutorial we will show you the basics for WorldEdit, with which you can do impressive things.
Install WorldEdit for single players
We'll show you how to install WorldEdit for your own Minecraft client. Minecraft version 1.10.2 is used.
- First install Minecraft Forge, which you can download from our download area.
- Then download the latest version of WorldEdit from here.
- Drag the downloaded jar file into the mods folder. You can find this under: [Windows] + [R] -> "% appdata% \. Minecraft" -> "mods"
The most important WorldEdit commands at a glance
Here we list a number of the most important and most frequently used commands. Most of these commands are typed with "//", e.g. B. "// undo".
- // pos1 and // pos2: are used to mark blocks. All blocks (including air) in the area between the two marked blocks are marked for further commands. You can use the command both two-dimensionally (x, z) and three-dimensionally (x, y, z). The wooden ax also has this function (left click = pos1, right click = pos2).
- // set [Block Name / ID]: All marked blocks receive the specified block ID, e.g. B. "// set diamond" converts all blocks into diamond blocks. We also show this command in our picture gallery.
- // replace {from block} [to block]: Replaces all blocks except air (unless specifically selected with {from block}) by the specified block.
- // undo {1 - 5}: Undoes up to 5 actions.
- // copy and // paste: "// copy" is used to copy a marked area, while "// paste" pastes the copied area again. You should take care of your location, because WorldEdit copies the blocks relative to the distance and keeps the same distance to you with "// paste", e.g. B. if you are 5 blocks away from the marked area, use "// copy" and then paste the marked area with "// paste", this area will be inserted 5 blocks away from you.
WorldEdit in action: a small task
Now that you know the most important commands, you should try them out yourself.
- Create a world. A flat world would be best.
- Mark a 3x3x3 area.
- Convert the marked area to diamond blocks.
- Copy the 3x3x3 cube and insert it again about 10 blocks.
- Replace the diamond blocks with oak blocks.
