Minecraft: Tame and breed wolves
To learn a dog in Minecraft, you have to tame wolves. This practical tip shows you how you can do this and how to breed the animals.
Minecraft: How to tame wolves - how it works
Wolves are rare creatures that you can only find in certain areas:
- They only occur in coniferous forests - so go into such a biome.
- To tame a wolf, equip it with a bone and right-click on the animal. If the wolf is not tamed on the first bone, just feed it with more bones.
- A tamed wolf then becomes a dog. He receives a collar and follows you from now on.
- If you move too far from your dog, it will automatically teleport back to you. To prevent this, right-click on the dog. It will remain there until you click it again.
Minecraft: breed dogs - how it works
Unfortunately, wolves cannot be bred, but tamed wolves - i.e. dogs - can:
- Gather several dogs in one place for breeding.
- Now take meat in your hand and feed the animals. As soon as you see rising hearts above the animals, they are in "pairing mode".
- Breeding gives you puppies, which then grow into dogs.
- You can also feed wolves this way, but they do not breed.
