Minecraft: making sugar - how it works
Since version 1.2, almost from the beginning, you can make sugar in Minecraft. We show you which raw materials you have to process on your crafting table.
Step 1: make crafting table in Minecraft
For sugar and other items such as tools, you need a crafting table.
- For this you need at least four logs. So run to a tree and hold the left mouse button on its trunk.
- Of course, you break down wood faster if you use an ax instead of your hands.
- As soon as you have collected the wood, open the craft menu with the [E] key. Then drag the wood with the left mouse button into the field with the four squares. This will create boards that you can drag back into your inventory (you can see both steps in the screenshot).
- With the boards you have to fill all four fields of the craft menu. This ultimately creates a workbench that you can set up anywhere.
Step 2: craft sugar in Minecraft
Before you can start crafting, you need raw materials that you can process:
- You only need one ingredient for sugar, namely sugar cane. This is not particularly rare and you can find it in all the landscapes of your map, especially on the water.
- Collect some sugar cane and place it in the crafting square of your crafting table (see screenshot).
- On the right, the sugar you want appears, from which you can stack up to 64 units.
- You can't eat sugar directly, but you need it, for example, if you want to bake a cake in Minecraft.
Sugar is not only important for cakes. You'll also need it if you want to brew potions in Minecraft.
