- Since the release of iOS 10, any app developer can integrate Siri support. There are currently numerous apps that support Siri. The number of apps and the range of functions available will probably continue to increase in the future.
- The first thing you need to know is whether the app you want supports Siri at all. You can find out more about this in the app description in the App Store. You will also find an option in the next paragraph.
- Second, you need to know which commands are available at all. You can find information on this either in the app itself or in the app description. Alternatively, you can simply try out a conceivable command.
- Start Siri and give her the command you want. For example, if you want to dictate a message for WhatsApp, a possible command is "Send Max a message via WhatsApp". Siri then asks you for the content of the message and then asks for confirmation to send the message.
- In addition to WhatsApp and the pre-installed Apple apps, there are numerous other applications that support Siri. These include Runtastic, Skype, Viber, LinkedIn, Pinterest, MyTaxi, Uber, Facebook, PayPal and several banking apps.
Siri: Activate control of apps
In some cases, you need to enable Siri access first. This also allows you to see which of your installed apps support Siri.
- To do this, first open the "Settings" app on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.
- Select the "Siri" category and scroll all the way down to "App Support".
- Here you can now activate or deactivate all supported apps for access by Siri.
