Why hydrogen peroxide to fight mold?
In the case of a small mold infestation, you can take matters into your own hands and fight them with the right means. In the case of large infestations, the help of a professional is necessary.
- Hydrogen peroxide, also H202, is normally used in medicine as a disinfectant or bleach. It disintegrates when used in water and free oxygen.
- You can purchase a three percent solution in pharmacies and drug stores. There is also 70 and 80 percent alcohol or isopropanol, which also helps against mold.
- Hydrogen peroxide has an oxidizing effect on the mold. The affected areas are disinfected by destroying the fungal cells. With black mold, it also works as a bleaching agent, which results in an improvement in the colored residues.
- Safety instructions: H202 is not flammable, however, you must wear a face mask and acid protection gloves when using it. The agent can damage your upper layers of skin if you do not protect yourself enough.
