Print envelopes with Word
Labeling an envelope by hand is easy, but having Word print on it looks much more professional. It's not that difficult either. We'll show you how it's done.
Print on the envelope with Word 2010 and 2007
To print an envelope according to your wishes, proceed as follows:
- Click on the "Shipments" tab in the header.
- Click "Envelopes" on the far left.
- A dialog window opens. Go to the "Envelopes" tab here.
- Here you can enter the recipient above and the sender below.
- If you want to save the sender, check the box next to "omit".
Check pressure properties
Once you have entered the addresses, you should still check the print properties so that nothing goes wrong:
- In the dialog box below, click "Options".
- The first tab "Envelope Options" opens. Here you can set the format of the envelope - for example "DL" for DIN long. DL corresponds to the normal letter format, in which an A4 sheet is folded in thirds. C6 corresponds to an envelope in which an A4 sheet is folded twice in the middle.
- Under the "Print Options" tab you can set how the envelope should be entered into the printer.
- If you have configured everything to your liking, you can print out the envelope directly with a click on "Print" or set it up as the first page for the document with "Add to document". The envelope can then be printed out several times.
Print envelopes in older versions of Word
You can also set up the envelopes in older versions of Word.
- Word 2003, 2002 and XP: Go to the "Tools" menu. Click on "Letters and Mailings" and then on "Envelopes and Labels".
- Word 2000: Go to the "Tools" menu and there to "Envelopes and Labels".
