Giving away a monitor: the best places to go for free displays
Old technology, such as a monitor, is often given away. In order to get one of these often still functional free displays, you should know the right points of contact. We have browsed for you and summarized a few tips.
Giving away the monitor: Here you can get free displays
Like all PC-related technology, monitors are quickly out of date. Those who buy a new one sometimes give away their old display. Often they are not yet out of date and fully functional. There are several platforms where you can get a gift like this.
- eBay classifieds: The classifieds of the auction house eBay offer everything possible. There is a separate section "To give away". If you search for monitors here, you will see a long list of gifts. You can search nationwide or filter by zip code. Instructions for eBay classified ads can be found in another article.
- Quoka: You can also make numerous bargains on this platform. Monitors are also given away here, but you have to take detours to get to the corresponding section. Under "Everything possible" you get to "Offer free of charge" - and with the appropriate search term to free displays.
- Focus classified ads: At Focus Online you can also offer or give away things for sale. To search for a monitor gift, enter "Give away the monitor" in the search field. You can start the search nationwide or filter by federal state.
- Kalaydo.de: If you browse Kalaydo.de, you will also find monitors that are provided free of charge. To do this, enter "monitor" in the search field and filter in the left column under "price" for "to give away".
Get active when looking for gifts
If you have not yet found the monitor you are looking for in our previous suggestions, you can take action yourself.
- If you place an advertisement on the platforms mentioned, you may find someone who gives you a monitor. The other person may even be happy if they continue to use their old display.
- Another option is your circle of friends and acquaintances. If none of your friends know that you are looking for someone, nobody will come to you. So ask around if someone has to give a free display.
- A post on Facebook can also be promising. Either you write to your Facebook friends and ask or you submit a request to one of the many flea market groups on Facebook. We explain in another article how you can find groups in Facebook.
If you haven't found the right free display after a long search, you can also buy a used monitor. We will show you what you need to pay attention to in our next practical tip.
