iOS & Android: Write messages in Morse code
If you want to learn Morse code, the Morse keyboard can help you learn. The Morse code can also be a very simple method for people with physical disabilities to type on their cell phones.
- The Morse code only requires two large buttons on the keyboard. One button for "short" and one for "long". Type in the desired string and wait a moment, the desired letter is typed in.
- In addition to letters, numbers and special characters are also possible using the Morse code. This is extremely practical, especially for people with disabilities.
- A corresponding keyboard is provided by Google free of charge. The function is available on both iOS and Android.

Instructions: Use Morse code in Android messages
As a rule, the Google keyboard Gboard is preinstalled on Android. If this is not or no longer the case, download Gboard from the Play Store.
- Open the "Settings" app and select the "Language & input" category at the bottom.
- The category is partly in the "advanced settings".
- Here tap on "Gboard" and tap on "Languages" above.
- Use the "Add keyboard" button to select "English" and then "English (USA)".
- Various keyboards are available at the top. Select the "Morse code" on the far right.
- Check and edit the other options if necessary and tap the "Done" button below.
- Now open any app, you can switch to the Morse code keyboard on the keyboard using the globe icon.
iPhone: Install keyboard for Morse code
The Google keyboard is not preinstalled on the iPhone. Here you have to download the free Gboard app from the App Store.
- Open the "Settings" app and select the "Keyboards" under "General" and "Keyboard".
- Tap on "Edit" above to integrate the Gboard keyboard into the system.
- Now open the Gboard app and select the item "Add languages" under "Languages".
- If you select the Morse code, the keyboard is fully integrated on the iPhone.
- To type messages using the Morse code, you must use the globe symbol on the open keyboard to switch to the correct keyboard.
