Movie Maker: change speed - how it works
You can change the speed of the video editing with the Movie Maker as you like. Slow motion, fast motion or slow motion - in practice this is not so easy to implement. We'll show you what to look out for.
Change video speed with Movie Maker
- First click on the video whose speed you want to change.
- The "Video Tools" and "Edit" tabs then appear in the menu.
- Directly under the "Edit" field you will find the speed settings and can create fast motion and slow motion effects.
Change speed - you have to consider that
- Sound: Accelerate the film, also accelerate the video sound. So people suddenly speak faster and in a higher pitch. Therefore, you should first extract the audio track of the video and insert it as a separate audio file in Movie Maker. This works, for example, with the free "FormatFactory" tool.
- Video sequence: The change in speed always affects the entire video clip. If you only want to speed up the video for a few seconds, you have to split the clip beforehand.
Do you still need an extraordinary effect? Then divide a clip into four very short sections (max. Half a second) and rotate the sequences 90 degrees in succession.
