MS Excel: convert units of measure - so it'll work
This practical tip shows you how you can convert units of measurement in Microsoft Excel.
Convert units of measurement to Microsoft Excel
With the spreadsheet program "Excel" you can not only have simple numerical values calculated automatically. The tool even converts entire units of measurement for you:
- To do this, open your workbook in which you want to convert the units of measurement.
- With the "Convert" command, you can have a wide variety of units of measurement converted automatically in Excel.
- To do this, enter the command "= CONVERT (cell; size1; size2)" in an empty cell.
- You replace the part "cell" with the desired value or the cell in which the numbers to be converted are. At "Size1" enter the initial size. Instead of "Size2", state the desired unit of measurement into which Excel should convert the value. In the screenshot, Excel converts one meter to inches.
- The spreadsheet supports almost every unit. You already get first suggestions when you enter the units. So you can quickly find the right abbreviations that Excel can use.
