MS Office: Activate preview images in Windows Explorer
This guide shows you how to activate the preview images for documents and other Office files in Windows Explorer.
Windows Explorer: Activate thumbnails for Office
- Open the Office file, of which no preview image is displayed in Explorer.
- Click on the "Office Icon" in the top left corner and select "Save As".
- You can select both "Office 97-2003 document" and the normal "Office document" as storage format.
- In the memory window, tick the "Save miniature" checkbox next to the "Memory" button. Then confirm with "Save".
- The thumbnail for the saved Office document is now visible in Windows Explorer in the thumbnail view.
