MS Office Word: Show multiple files at the same time
If you want to edit several Word files at the same time, you can display them in parallel. We show you how this works in this guide.
Word: Show multiple files at the same time
- In the upper left corner of Word, click on the "File" menu item and select the "Open" option.
- Mark the desired documents with the Ctrl key and click on the "Open" button. Then several files are opened at the same time.
- To view the files in parallel, switch to the "View" tab at the top.
- Under the "Windows" category you will find numerous options for arranging the two windows.
- The "New window" button opens the current document again so that you can edit and view the file in two places.
- With the "Arrange all" function, all windows are placed one above the other. However, this becomes rather confusing with just three files.
- With the "Show side by side" button, a maximum of two documents are arranged to the right and left of each other.
