MS Office Word: Quarter the page - how it works
In order to create greeting cards or flyers with Word, it is often advisable to quarter the page in order to optimally use the space. There are various options available in word processing for dividing the page. In this practical tip, we will introduce you to some of them.
Split word page using a table
You can quarter the Word page relatively easily and quickly by inserting a table.
- First click on the "Insert" tab. In the "Tables" area, select two columns and two rows.
- Then go to the "Table Tools" tab and then the "Layout" tab.
- In the ribbon, select the section "Row size" and then enter "Height" and "Width" of each of the four rows. For example, if you selected the "Narrow" page layout, a height of 13.3 cm and width of 9.5 cm is a good choice.
- If you want the same distance between the four areas as at the edge, simply add another column and a line and adjust the height and width accordingly.
- In the ribbon of the "Page layout" tab, you can set the width of the outer edges of your page in the "Page setup"> "Page margins" section. If your printer supports borderless printing, set the margins to 0 under "Custom Page Margins".
Divide page in Word
Another option for dividing the page into four areas is the Word label function.
- In the ribbon of the "Shipments" tab, select the "Labels" in the "Create" section.
- In the "Envelopes and Labels" menu, first select the "Labels" tab and then click the "Options" button.
- In the pull-down menu of "label manufacturer" you choose "Avery Zweckform" and in the pull-down menu of "label number" you choose "LR3483".
- Finally confirm your selection with "OK".
In the next post we will tell you how you can get four pictures on one page in Word.
