Set UTF-8 encoding in Word - you have to do that
The only way to change the encoding is to save the document as UTF-8. To do this, proceed as follows:
- Open the "File" button in Word.
- Select "Save As" here.
- Click on "Tools" below and finally select "Web Options ..." from the context menu.
- Then switch to the "Coding" tab.
- Under "Save document as" select the option "Unicode (UTF-8)".
