You can change the Windows start time individually using the timeout command in the system configuration (msconfig). We'll show you how it's done.
Change Windows startup time - what for?
- The timeout command specifies how much time you have until Windows boots when the computer starts. This is useful, for example, if you have two operating systems installed on one computer.
- You can enter any number of seconds as the value for the command. 30 seconds are already preset here. When the time runs out, the primary operating system starts automatically.
Set the Windows start time with "msconfig timeout"
- Press the "Windows" and "R" keys simultaneously so that the "Run" window opens.
- Enter "msconfig" here and confirm with "OK". The system configuration then opens.
- Switch to the "Start" tab at the top and enter a desired number in the "Timeout" field at the bottom right (see picture).
- If you would like to receive the delay every time you start the computer, activate the option "Start settings should always apply".
- Close the window with the "OK" and "Restart now" button.
